RI's Purgatory Chasm Letterbox Missing

With temps around 40* on this January day, it was hard
to resist the temptation so off to Newport I went. I
worked my way though the traffic to arrive at
Purgatory Chasm's Parking lot, but alas the letterbox
was no where to be found...just a beach full of
surfers below.

On the upside, however, Sachuest Point was georgous,
though windy, and the letterbox there still in good
order.

With temps to be in RI working towards 50* by Sunday,
have a great weekend of adventures!

Purgatory Chasm has been lost for quite some time!! Before New Year's at

I knew that the MA Purgatory Chasm boxes were posted
as missing back in late November...but I guess I
missed the fact that the RI one was also missing.

For a clairification.... I believe we are talking about two different
series of boxes here... RI's Purgatory Chasm (I do not know of the
owner), and the Proposal series in MA (mine).

I want to reiterate that the Proposal series in MA may be a bit more
difficult that people are used to, so they have inadvertently assumed that
the boxes were missing. We checked on them this past summer and all were
acounted for.
